According to noise assessment reports, noise barriers needed to be erected next to the train formation facilities in Hamburg Eidelstedt and Hamburg Stellingen. This construction work covered three sections:

• Section 1
Left of S-Bahn line 1225, from km 2.863 to km 3.597 (length 734 m); barrier height 4.50 m and 2.00 m above the rails, single-side high absorption
• Section 2
Right of AKN line 9121, from km 2.975 to km 3.210 (length 235 m); barrier height 2.00 m above the rails, single-side high absorption
• Section 3
Right of AKN line 9121, from km 3.431 to km 3.753 (length 322 m);
Height of barrier 2.50 m above the rails, dual-side high absorption
The noise barriers are located at a distance of 4.0 m from the track axis. This provides sufficient space for pathways and escape routes.  
A special feature of this case is that noise barrier 2 has dual-sided designs using motif printing in a screen printing process performed at the factory.
